AWC Heavyweight champion Jay Batista has been battling a ruptured hernia for quite a while and it has finally caught up with him. He will be undergoing surgery to correct this. We here at AWC wish "The Monster" well and are saddened to hear that due to the surgery and his unknown return time frame at this moment...AWC will be removing the heavyweight championship from Jay Batista and will hold it up to crown a new champion at Christmas Chaos. When Batista was notified he had this to say regarding the decision "I understand that it is a champion's duty to always be present and lead the company in the right direction, but this injury has been something I've been fighting off even before I became champion, and it's become too much for me to deal with on a daily basis. However, despite the surgery, when I do come back, and I will be back, you had better bet that the monster will be on a warpath like never before climbing back to the top to get what's rightfully his!" I can only say that for the winner of the championship at Christmas Chaos, they had better hope Jay is out for quite a while, because the odds will be greatly stacked against the new champion starting the new year.
